Building Effective Mentoring Programs

One of the best ways to help develop and retain your valued employees is by having them work with a skilled mentor. Many firms have created programs to facliitate the creation of mentoring partnerships, but the programs have not always delivered the desired results, leading to frustration of both mentees and mentors. However, mentoring programs can deliver great results if they are designed well from the start. This session will examine current research on mentoring programs and will detail how firms can get the most out of them.

Objectives:

  • Describe how firms can benefit from facilitated mentoring programs.
  • Identify what structure to create for an effective program.
  • Explain what should be covered in mentor and protege training.
  • Summarize how to evaluate the program for success.
